Founder of Rotary in Peru and "El Rotario Peruano"

I have reviewed a series of documents where speech of Fernando Carbajal Segura, of its life, its restlessness, its conduct, its desires and perspective of the life... And I found whereupon everybody speech of him, as if one was a being come from another planet, whose general characteristics only bear relation to the aspiration, ideal that all the human beings we have of the perfect beings... If it is that in other planets there are beings like the humans... And if there are them, they are perfect.
If in this running by history, I found a young man like any other, of twenty years, joker, it cheers and become fond of to the guitar, that finished culminating its studies in the School of Engineers with remarkable qualifications.
World different opened for this young person in Lima of 1905, populated nearly less than 500.000 people, where differences social generated like auto answer necessity that few had to offer their arm to support to many, whose ancients farmers had virtually impelled them towards the great city, where was newness and perspective of a better world.
Conscious of that destiny by his formation familiar and eager to offer, goes immediately to the Peruvian Forest, to get up itself to a group of adventurers who tried to furrow the rivers to signalize new maps of those days.
Meanwhile, in the United States, in the city of Chicago, Illinois, the 23 of February of same year 1905, a group of four friends, between whom it honors the young lawyer Paul Harris, they discuss on the necessity that who have been favored in something by the fortune, they are organized to serve the human communities and to solve in something its necessities.
And this way, they decide to meet periodically in the house of each one of them and they were committed to invite the friends who wish to add themselves to this crossed. It is as well as it is born this singular institution, whose characteristic is to meet rotating by the houses, of all the partners.
The forest, the insurmountable Peruvian Forest, catapult to a group of engineer young people towards the novel construction of the Panama Canal, where Fernando de Lesseps tries a gigantic work that will culminate with the communication of the Oceans Atlantic and Pacific, having allowed to lighten the time of the transporting boats of goods and services of and for America.
Between those engineer young people, with 21 years hardly, the anxious Fernando Carbajal Segura gets ready, who from then will be tempering in suffering that positive sensitivity that a man of good and with deep love by his resemblances will do of him. The friends and known those who he has seen disappear in the squalid Panamanian forest and many are many to those who he has seen be started of the claws of the death in that tenacious fight by the survival. This hard experience near 30 months, from 1905 to 1907, in that a man returns fact from 23 years with a maturity carved in his body with the hardness of the experience and the percipient sensitivity of the other people's pain, as they only perceive that have felt in own meat the pain...

1907, Lima are still a city of streets paved with dim lights of lights in each corner, with struggle to incorporate to its style, something of the great cities, preside over Peru Don Jose Pardo.
Fernando Carbajal, that young person of our history, is name by the Government to go to the United States and Cuba, to close by know the works of cleaning that are made in those nations.
During his permanence in Panama, he enjoyed the special friendship of the Peruvian Diplomat Don Fernando Alfonso Pezet, who at that time occupied the position of In charge of Businesses of Peru in Panama. In 1919, the movement founded by Paul Harris already had transposed the borders of the great country of North, and existed the "International Association of Rotary" that year asks for to Don Federico Alfonso Pezet, the organization of Clubs Rotarios in center and South America. Serious problem, because exactly our diplomat received simultaneously the nomination of Ambassador of Peru in the United States.
Then consultation the situation with its intimate friend of 34 years, Ing. Fernando Carbajal Segura, who welcomes the idea with great enthusiasm and receives this order of second hand with fervent persistence.
In 1920, Fernando Carbajal leaves the service to the State and is name civil employee of high level of the Peruvian Telephones Company, of which he would be General Manager and Vice-president of the Directory.
That year, the 18 of Julio of 1920, to be exact, to order of this proman meet twelve people to found the Rotary Club of Lima, that would be to receive the ofical recognition the 01 of Julio of 1922.
The task was hard. One was an Institution with methodologies different from the known ones until then, nevertheless, the foundation of this Rotarian Club was the departure point for many Clubs in our country.
Fernando Carbajal held all the positions in his Club. Nevertheless, to insistences, just he accepted to be his President in 1934.
The rest of history, You know it.
Fernando Carbajal represents for all the Peruvian Rotarians the example of the effort and the love our resemblances. Giving of himself before thinking about himself, never had an own name in our country and well done to assign with merit the name of Fernando Carbajal Segura.
